Ashfield House is a detached luxury home set back from a quiet residential street. It's a peaceful location that is a genuine ten minutes stroll from Pickering's charming market place. There you will find an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs and a great range of local shops for relaxed browsing and fantastic presents to take home. You can visit the charming Beck Isle Museum hop onto a train running on England's longest steam railway for a relaxing ride through exquisite countryside on the world famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway - regularly featured in the hit TV series Heartbeat, or go a little further afield to visit castles, stately homes, museums and galleries. Close by is Castle Howard one of Britain's finest historic houses and setting for Brideshead Revisited, as well as the shopping mecca and historic hotspot that is York. Eden Camp Modern History Museum, set in World War Two prisoner of war camp, is close by, as is Ryedale Folk Museum, a unique open-air attraction. Also a short journey away is the coast, where the delights of Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay await. Or you could pull on your boots or take to your bikes to explore moorland and forest (beautiful Dalby Forest is very close, we will provide you with a free pass so you can take full advantage of this stunning area) and sample some of nature's delights. |
